KFC Scholars

KFC Scholars
The KFC Colonel's Scholars Program was created in 2006 and is dedicated to assisting students with financial need who plan to pursue a bachelor's degree at a public institution within their legal state of residence. To qualify, a student must be:
  • graduating from high school this academic school year
  • Maintaining a minimum high school cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Enrolling in a public, in state college or university (start date no later than 9/30/10)
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree
  • A US Citizen

Scholars may begin their college career by entering into either a 2-or 4-year accredited, public (state-funded) college or university within their state of legal residence, as long as they stay on track to complete a bachelor's degree program.

Students complete their application online at http://www.kfcscholars.org/. The online application will be available from December 1, 2009-February 10, 2010. Students will be asked to provide pertinent information about themselves, & their family life, their activity level during high school, and compose a few short answer responses to various questions. The online application will allow you to save your work as you go. Once the application period closes, a preliminary review of all applications submitted will take place (early March). Based on the preliminary review, students selected a semifinalists will then be asked to provide additional supporting documents.

The scholarship is could be worth up to $20,000 over 4 years for tuition, fees, books, and room & board.
