Today’s students will find that strong leadership skills are a necessity if they are to be successful in the 21st century. At MUW, they are helping prepare students to meet this challenge by offering them the opportunity to attend the Hearin Leadership Conference.
Students attending the conference will also have the opportunity to interview for the distinguished Hearin Leadership Scholarship. The scholarships of $10,000 for four years are based on an interview and demonstrated school and/or community leadership.
WHAT is the Hearin Leadership Conference?
The Hearin Leadership Conference offers high school seniors, who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills and have a minimum ACT of 18 and a GPA of 2.5, the opportunity to attend leadership workshops, interact with other student leaders, and hear nationally acclaimed speakers.
WHEN is Hearin Leadership Conference?
The 2010 Hearin Leadership Conference is scheduled for January 29 -31. The conference will begin with lunch for the students and their parents at 11:30 on Friday. The conference will conclude at 11:00 on Sunday.
WHERE is the Hearin Leadership Conference?
The conference will be held on the historic MUW campus.
There is a $50 charge for those selected to attend which covers meals, lodging, and conference materials. Applications are available at www.muw.edu/hearin. Applications are due by January 18, 2010.
