The Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians Foundation Board of Trustees established the David G. Hall, M.D. Memorial Scholarship to award scholarships to seniors in schools across Mississippi who have an aptitude in the sciences and interest in pursuing a career in the field of medicine.
The foundation will donate up to $3,500 of scholarship monies to Mississippi seniors this school year.
Each student who meets the above criteria should submit to me and application along with their 500-word essay titled, “The Family Physician: Providing Your Medical Home”. The essay should describe the impact of their personal Family Physician in their life and/or the role of the Family Physician in his or her community.In what ways do Family Physicians strengthen the various aspects of the community?" Only one student from each school will be entered to represent the school in the statewide competition.

The Foundation Board of Trustees will judge the essays and winners will be announced by April 30, 2010. The submission deadline for the application and essay is March 31,2010.
