John C. Stennis Scholarship in Political Science

The John C. Stennis Scholarships in Political Science are offered by Mississippi State University's Department of Political Science and Public Administration. They are provided to highly qualified entering freshmen and community college graduates.

MSU proudly offers graduating high school seniors John C. Stennis Scholarships in Political Science. The Stennis Scholarships, established to honor this illustrious alumnus of the University, are awarded to promising young Mississippians with a strong commitment to public service.

The scholarship continues for four years or until graduation (whichever comes first). However, students must continue to major in political science and maintain a cumulative "B" average with a normal academic load of at least fifteen hours per semester. The Scholarship includes an Educational Enhancement Fund stipend of $1,600 per student, usually for internships in Washington, D.C.

Criteria:
be resident of Mississippi
have a high school average of "B"
be of good character

Students desiring to compete for this scholarship should submit an application along with 2 letters of reference from teachers or administrators as well as your transcript(which should include the Fall 2009 semester)

Deadline is February 26, 2010.
