Toyota Community Scholars

Toyota Motor Sales is pleased to present the 12th annual Toyota Community Scholars program for high school seniors . The program will award 100 renewable scholarships, valuated at $10,000 or $20,000 payable over four years, to seniors who enroll at a 4 year college/university in the United States starting in the fall of 2009. The scholarship winners will be announced in April 2009.

Toyota believes helping people who improve the quality of life in their community is an essential component of corporate responsibility. The Toyota Community Scholars program recognizes academic excellence & rewards young people who actively participate in community service.

Eligibility:
· High school senior w/ gpa 3.0 or better
· Be actively involved in a service organization or project that has a positive impact on school or community.
· Be U.S. citizen
· Plan to pursue an undergraduate degree at an accredited 4 year college/university

While academic performance is a prime factor in the selection process, please note that the distinguishing characteristic, will be the overall impact of the student’s contribution(s) in the area of community service.

Student’s are encouraged to nominate themselves! Any senior interested, please email me & I will add you to my list of Nominees. When you email me, please include a list of community service projects you are involved in, as well. The faculty will vote next Thursday, November 7th. Applications must be postmarked by December 1, 2008.
