MUW Minority Day

inority Day aspires to increase minority high school juniors and seniors awareness in regards to applying and attending college. In addition, students will gain knowledge pertaining to academic offerings, scholarship opportunities, social interaction, and the opportunity to learn about our Summer Bridge Institute (June 28 - August 1, 2009). This year, high school seniors will have an opportunity to interview for a Minority Day Scholarship ranging from $250.00 to $500.00. There is a section on the application that the student will need to complete if they are interested in interviewing for the Minority Day Scholarship. The deadline to apply for Minority Day is October 28, 2008.
The Summer Bridge Institute is a five week residential program held during the second summer session of summer school. The 2008 Summer Bridge Institute will start on June 28th and end on August 1st. The program assists students in "Bridging the Gap" between high school and their freshman year in college. This is an intensive program consisting of both academic and life skills activities. Full support is provided for books, housing, meals, and tuition. Students will receive 4 college credit hours and many other life skills in which they can utilize in their upcoming college careers.
